Basketball: FIBA launches first African League

Luanda - The International Basketball Federation FIBA- Africa will hold the 1st African Junior Basketball League in 2019, announced Thursday in Luanda the Angolan Basketball Federation’s secretary general, Nelson Sardinha., In a brief statement to ANGOP, Nelson Sardinha said that although there is no date or venue for the final, the competition will held in the same way as the African Cup of Champions.
The African Junior Men #39;s Basketball League will be played in a two-stage all-agains-all system, the first of the regional qualifying rounds and the second group stage.
He revealed that, for the SADC region, the first qualifiers of the regional qualifying rounds will be qualified from 21 to 29 October in Bulawayo (Zimbabwe).
The Bulawayo tournament is attended by teams from nine (9) countries in the SADC region, of which three Angolans, namely Petro de Luanda, 1 de Agosto and Interclube. ,
